Leading With Teams
Leading With Teams focuses on developing a diverse leadership team for ministry success. It reviews the traditional models and offers a biblical alternative. It gives principles for becoming an effective team leader and building a strong leadership team. Also presented are handling team conflict and transitioning to team leadership.

Jim Wall is the Senior Pastor and church planter of Western Branch Community Church in Chesapeake, VA. He has over 30 years experience in church planting, church growth, and pastoral ministry. As a missionary in the Philippines for nine years, he planted 48 churches and two ministry training schools. Jim holds a BA in Religious Education, an MA in Pastoral Ministry and is now pursuing his Doctorate in Ministry. Jim, his wife Kim, and children Andrew, Adam and Zach live in Chesapeake, VA.

Main Objective
The object of this module is to help ministry leaders develop a diverse leadership team approach to achieve ministry success by building the three key elements of a leadership team:

1. Team Leader: Participants will learn how to effectively lead and build a team.

2. Team Vision: Participants will learn how shape and impart a vision.
3. Team Members: Participants will learn how to build and mobilize a leadership team.

Module Overview
This module is unique in several ways. It is a training tool to equip Christian leaders to train other Christians for team leadership. This material also challenges and inspires leaders to personally reach their fullest potential as team leaders.

Leading With Teams provides seven sessions on how to better lead, identify and build leadership teams within the ministry for ministry success.

Shaping a
Team Vision

We will examine key aspects of developing a team vision, including:

00• four keys to shaping the team’s vision.
00• five ways vision impacts a team.

Building the Leadership
Team
We will examine key aspects of building a leadership team, including:

  00• four primary types of leaders and their respective roles in an effective team.
00• three groups of spiritual gifts to build a team.
00• five primary dysfunctions that limit the success of a leadership team.

Resolving
Conflict
Within the
Team
We will examine conflict within a ministry team, including:

00• four key principles for resolving team conflict.

Transitioning
to Leading
with Teams
