The Leader's Potential focuses on reaching your potential by maximizing your spiritual gifts and personality mix. It shows how understanding yourself and those around you will help you find your PLACE in ministry and maximize your strengths to reach your greatest potential.

Dorena DellaVecchio is an Assistant Professor in the Leadership School at Regent University. She is administrator of the Masters program and teaches courses in organizational structure and leadership. Dorena has developed and statistically validated a survey to identify motivational gifts. Dorena holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. Dorena and her husband, Dominic, reside in Chesapeake, VA.

Main Objective
The object of this module is to help ministry leaders reach their potential by finding their PLACE in ministry service and helping others to do the same. This is accomplished through various surveys and self-assessment tools to help them find their PLACE in ministry.

Module Overview
This module presents three key areas for enabling a ministry leader to reach his fullest leadership potential: 1) living a balanced life, 2) discovering and releasing spiritual gifts, and 3) discovering and understanding personality types. It is a tool to help leaders find their PLACE (Personality, Likes & Love, Availability, Charismata Gifts, and Experience) in ministry, unlocking their fullest potential.

The Leader’s Potential provides seven sessions which are all designed to help leaders find their PLACE in ministry. An emphasis is placed on learning to identify the spiritual Charismata Gifts, as well as on the DISC personality types, for enabling a leader to better understand himself and others.

Session Description
Session 1:
Pursuing Your Potential

We will introduce the keys of how to pursue your potential and the steps of how to find your PLACE in ministry, including:
00• five keys to pursuing your potential in life.
00• five principles for mastering "self."
00• five aspects of how to find your PLACE in ministry.
00• six areas of life that are connected to lifelong personal growth.

Session 2:
Identifying Personality
Types 		We will describe and examine the four Personality Types, including:
00• the definition and purpose of Personality Type study.
00• the completion of the DISC survey.
00• four DISC Personality Types.
Session 3:
Relating to
Diverse
Personalities		 We will show how to relate to each Personality Type, including:
00• two key aspects of relating to the “D” personality.
00• two key aspects of relating to the “I” personality.
00• two key aspects of relating to the “S” personality.
00• two key aspects of relating to the “C” personality.
00• 25 different personality blends.
Session 4:
Identifying Leadership Styles		 We will connect leadership style to personality type, including:
00• four diverse leadership styles based on the four personality types.
00• the challenges of leading and ways of motivating the four personality types.
00• three aspects of how ministry leaders are called to be servant leaders.
Session 5:
Releasing Your Spiritual Gifts		 We will introduce the concept of being continually filled with the Spirit and renewing your mind, including:
00• two aspects of being continuously filled with the Spirit.
00• two aspects of renewing your mind.
00• for ways that renewing your mind increases your gifts.
00• three groups of spiritual gifts.
Session 6:
Identifying Charismata Gifts

We will describe and examine the seven Charismata Gifts in Romans 12:6-8, including:
00• four key characteristics of the Charismata Gifts.
00• the completion of a Romans 12 Gifts survey.
00• eight aspects for each of the seven Charismata Gifts.

Session 7:
Finding Your
PLACE
in Ministry

We will combine Spiritual Gifts and Personality Types with Likes, Availability, and Experiences for identifying your PLACE in ministry, including:
00• three aspects of combining Charismata Gifts and Personality Types.
00• completion of a Likes assessment.
00• completion of an Availability assessment.
00• completion of an Experiences assessment.
